I like to travel and hike, and almost all of the photos are unplanned: I usually only take pictures of nice things that happen to fall in front of me, and I almost never scout a site and return when the light is perfect. I also don't like early mornings, so you will not find any 5 am, 10 second exposures on this site. Just lazy.
I used two cameras in taking the photographs on this site. Most of pictures were taken with a Canon EOS 10s 35 mm camera, and the film was scanned (poorly, as a general rule) when then were developed. Since 2006 I have used a Canon 20D digital, and the quality of these pictures are better then the scanned film (composition, excepted, of course). My most-used lens is a 24-85 mm zoom, but I have also used a 100-300 mm zoom (which I dropped while scrambling over some rocks on a beach in Sardinia, so it has probably reached retirement), and most recently a 100 mm macro.
The locations of my photos are where I live and vacation. I was born and grew up in Arizona, and return there about once a year. I moved to Switzerland in 2000, and so that has helped me to travel around Europe (see the Scotland, France, Greece, and Sardinia gallerys). My trips to Spain and Seattle were work related, but I managed to find a little time for photography.
Other interesting sites:
My girlfriend has her own website, which has lots of great photographs.
As you can see from the picture gallery, I have traveled to Sardinia in Italy a couple of times. There is a great website devoted to surfing and surfing photography based in Sardinia, www.worldwidewave.com, and there is more info about the photographer here.
